Piroska Bata

Piroska is a nursing professional with 28 years of Burn-Trauma/Critical Care/Mental Health experience, teaching, and business management experience. Studied at McMaster University, Professional Coaching at Adler in Toronto, also studied International Executive MBA at the University of Toronto. Has co-chaired fundraising for Brain Injury Association of Canada and volunteered for BIAC, and also held the position of VP of membership on the Board for Elevate, Toronto Chapter. Piroska is currently studying for her Master in Arts in Counselling Psychology at the Yorkville University. Has earned her Licensed Practitioner and Master Practitioner Certificate in NLP and became an NSP Hypnotist. Piroska is now a Licensed Trainer of NLP.

Piroska is also a Reiki Master/Teacher, Therapeutic Touch practitioner. This fits in with the love of martial arts/meditation and teaching of self-defense. Piroska is a passionate speaker about Brain Injuries, Mental Health and Workplace violence prevention, especially in health care settings. Currently holds an academic appointment with Seneca College teaching Coronary care, Chronic Disease Management, and Nursing Leadership and Management, as well as coordinating all of those programs for International Nurses.

As an RNAO member, belongs to the IPN and CTIG groups for many years. In the past four years have been a consultation representative at the AGM. Have been actively part of Queens Park on the road a participate in Queens Park day in February. For the past two years became a workplace Liaison and for the past 3 years have been ENO for Communication for Region 6. She has been an active member on the Board of Directors for Region 6 in planning events, doing mindfulness exercises at the events, coaching at a board retreat, and organizing a panel discussion about workplace violence and for networking as RNs. She is a strong advocate for RNs to work in their full scope of practice and be the voice of advocacy for speaking out for health. Piroska is dedicated to excellence in patient-centered care, evidence-based practice, best practice guidelines and working collaboratively to create models for outstanding customer service with integrity, humanity, respect, and dignity.
